New Zealand is home to the Southern Alps, and Aoraki, better known as Mt. Cook, is the tallest peak in the country at 12,316 feet. Camping under the southern stars across the valley from the mountain icon afforded me an amazing opportunity to witness the night sky transition into day upon the glaciated peaks.
